Hawthorne in Caufield North, VIC 3161

The brief consisted of a four-bedroom family home with a second storey master suite on a small semi-attached block. The original plan and massing were adapted to create a more expansive connection from inside to outside and to allow light to flood the new living quarters on the south-west facing dwelling.

Our solution was to create linear; north-facing skylights to penetrate the ceiling along the length of the room. The planning focuses on creating flowing spaces with varying levels of separation to suit a growing family while the details, fixtures and fittings are sensitive to the original home.
