Our client re-branded their Formule One Hotel and converted it into a vibrant hub in Sydney’s popular Kings Cross district. The brief was two-fold and included a soft refurbishment of existing rooms along with a redesign of the lobby and public areas. The result is an experience that does not feel corporate but relaxed and informal.

 

We did not constrain our design by limiting our attention to a particular time period or style. Rather, the inspiration originated from a desire to create a space of intimacy and warmth. In reconfiguring the lobby space, we sought to create an area that is multi-functional; making the most of the available space. It is an area where it feels just as natural to ask for extra towels as it does to order a coffee.
