Strahan Resort - Staff Accomodation

Inspired by MOSTAGHIM's work on UKO projects, the owner of this western Tasmanian resort sought to create comfortable, self-contained micro-apartments for staff. The design revitalizes existing, dilapidated accommodation, embracing its exposed brickwork and timber ceilings.

Feature and concealed lighting accentuates the texture of these materials while brightening the interiors—an essential consideration in a region with limited winter sunlight. Custom-designed joinery adds detail to the rooms while integrating every essential function—desk, bar, ironing board—allowing everything to be neatly stored away, keeping spaces free of clutter.
